I grew up in Corvallis, Oregon where my resources were limited but my dreams were not. My taste for the finer things in life began when I handpicked the best white laminate bookshelf at Fred Meyer that housed my Yorx stereo and Esprit catalogs...followed up by a futon and fan back wicker chair I found at a dodgy incense store downtown. Sourcing locally at such an early age...already ahead of my time. I naively applied to only one college 45 miles away where I got one term of Interior Architecture under my belt. Correctly, I realized that if I wasn't going to build houses then I was wasting my time and limiting my social life. So, after graduating with a Political Science degree from the University of Oregon I predictably catered, was an Administrative Assistant and worked in high-end retail when I was too pregnant to move around gracefully. Fast forward to 2008 when a few friends expressed interest in my "knack at decorating" I decided to go ahead and put that Political Science degree to use and launched my own company. When it comes to design I like a mix. Old and new...found and ordered. Bespoke makes it special. Quirky gives it personality. Never a formula. As a business woman, I am very good at multi-tasking. I have sold more grass cloth while playing tennis than I care to admit. Three kids, four chickens, one duck, two clichè labradoodles and one over-acheiving husband later, and there we have it.
